Macro Recording

Are you ready? Don't forget, open your Microsoft excel first. I use excel 2010. But if you have 2007 version, then it's ok. No worries.
Macro recording is something like video recorder that will record all your routines.
Whatever you do, it will be recorded.
Once you saved the recorded macro, you can play it again.

Think of a routine you always do in excel?
Just think.
If your familiar already of the row-column cell designation, then it's advantage for you.
But if not yet, then you can check this article  Excel Basic.

Follow the steps in example below.

Example # 1:
1. In the View menu bar, find Macros.
    Select Record macro.

2. New window will pop up

Selections?:
a. Just put a name of macro whatever you like.
b. Also, in the shortcut key, you can assign character (not anymore you like 'cause some already assigned)
c. Store macro in: This is for you to choose whether you need to run this macro.
   In This Workbook, your macro will run in the current workbook your recording.
   In New Workbook, your macro will be recorded in new workbook.
   In personal macro workbook, you can run your macro in any workbook that is opened.
3. I choose This workbook. Just click ok.
Now, at this very moment your recording started already so be ready.

4. Select any cell you want
5. Color the cell to green and click bold icon
6.. Type word "ENGINEER" in that cell.

7. In the View menu, go back to macro dropdown and select Stop Recording.
8. Now, you already have your new macro.

Verification
1.Select another cell except cell A1.
2. Go to view menu and select View Macro.
3.You can see the name of your macro, then click run.
   What have you seen?

Warning:
You need to save your workbook in .xlsm (Excel-enabled workbook) format since .xlsx is a macro-free format.


Homework
1.In the view menu, select View macro.
2.In the pop up window, click Edit.
3.Now you can see the codes.
4.Analyze it.
